San Gabriel River of the Angeles National Forest (CA)

February 11th & 12th, 2005

Friday night, Feb. 11th, it's raining again and WHAT'S THIS!!!.

Rain running down the main entrance road to the bridge, and perhaps rain from
the metal bridge itself, is starting to erode the dirt ramp as it meets the bridge.

Saturday morning, Feb.12th, and after heavy night rains, the bridge sure looks good.

But upon closer inspection, zowie!  A peek into that growing hole reveals
that the road is again being seriously eroded.  Road medic!!!

Water runoff from Friday night's heavy rain continues to raise the river.
More rain is forecasted.  Photograph taken February 12th.

With increased water volume, the water speed increases.
